One Open Door Can Defeat the Whole Access System
Access controls protect people, operations and sensitive areas only when every entry is individually verified. Holding a controlled door for an unknown person, sharing credentials or assuming someone belongs on site can bypass several security barriers at once. Professional courtesy means helping a visitor follow the correct process—not allowing unverified access.
Controls to confirm
- Use only your own approved credential and ensure each person is individually verified before entering a controlled area.
- Challenge uncertainty through the site’s safe, respectful process or contact security; do not confront, pursue or physically block anyone.
- Report lost credentials, forced doors, malfunctioning access points and suspected tailgating promptly, then follow temporary controls until the weakness is corrected.

At the first controlled entry today, pause long enough to confirm that the door closes securely and that every person entering uses the approved verification process.
